Optomap Non Dilated Retinal Exam

Annual eye exams are vital to maintaining your vision and overall health.  Dr. Janot & Dr. Hayes begin all comprehensive eye exams with the latest in eye imaging systems, the optomap® Retinal Exam. The optomap® Retinal Exam produces an image that is as unique as you fingerprint and provides the doctors with a wide view to look at the health of your retina. The retina is the part of your eye that captures the image of what you are looking at, similar to film in a camera.

Many eye problems can develop without you knowing. You may not even notice any change in your sight. But, diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinal tears or detachments, and other health problems such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be seen with a thorough exam of the retina.

Dr. Robert Janot’s Vision Source in Sulphur, LA. Offers the latest imaging system from Optos, the "California" Retinal Imaging System.

Like its predecessors in the Optos family, California provides a high-resolution, high-contrast image – the optomap.  But, head & shoulders above prior systems, the California offers an unequaled 220° view of the retina in a single capture.

Optos California

This comprehensive view of the retina in one image, gives Dr. Janot & Dr. Hayes the opportunity to identify and follow changes in your eye health.

Optos has well over 100 completed and ongoing clinical studies that support how optomap’s ultra-wide view of the retina helps eyecare professionals like Dr. Janot & Dr. Hayes provide the best care for their patients. The high-resolution digital images can be easily stored for later study, future reference or comparison, and shared with other providers.

The newest generation of Optos technology, California, has been specifically redesigned to provide ultra-high resolution imaging, and adding new ultra-widefield auto-fluorescence capabilities.

The optomap® Retinal Exam is fast, easy, and comfortable for all ages. To have the exam, you simply look into the device one eye at a time and you will see a comfortable flash of light to let you know the image of your retina has been taken. The optomap® image is shown immediately on a computer screen so we can review it with you.
