Dr. Janot named American Board of Optometry Ambassador

The American Board of Optometry has launched a new state Ambassador program, tapping the expertise of its own Diplomates to educate ODs about the organization’s voluntary Board Certification program.

The American Board of Optometry is very pleased to announce that Dr. Rob Janot, a member of the Optometry Association of Louisiana, has been selected as Ambassador for Louisiana. This is a two-year volunteer position designed to foster awareness of the Board Certification and Maintenance of Certification processes, and their benefits for ODs and patients.

Dr. Janot will serve as a Board Certification mentor to fellow optometrists, presenting at state association meetings and communicating ideas and feedback to the Board of Directors.

The American Board of Optometry’s Board Certification process is based on an American Board of Medical Specialties model. It is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies, and its Maintenance of Certification process is CMS-approved.
