Robert C. Janot, O.D., F.A.A.O.
Diplomate, American Board of Optometry
Dr. Robert C. Janot, originally from Eunice, Louisiana, is a 1983 graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry. A therapeutically certified optometrist, Dr. Janot has passed all examinations given by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. In January, 2014, he passed the American Board of Optometry Board Certification Examination, earning him the title, Diplomate, American Board of Optometry. Dr. Janot is a member of the Optometry Association of Louisiana, the American Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association Contact Lens and Cornea Section, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He serves as the Optometry Association of Louisiana's co-chairman for coordinating continuing medical education for all of the state's optometrists, a position he has held since 1993.
In June, 2014, Dr. Janot was honored with the highest award bestowed on a Louisiana Optometrist, the James D. Sandefur Distinguished Service Award. This award honors an optometrist who has demonstrated tremendous commitment and outstanding service, over a significant period of time, to the Optometry Association of Louisiana, the profession of optometry in this state, and/or to the eye health and visual welfare of the citizens of Louisiana. In 2008, he was named Louisiana's "Optometrist of the Year" making this the 4th time he has received the honor from his peers since 1989. Dr. Janot is a past president of the Optometry Association of Louisiana, and served as chairman of the Past President's Council from 2010-2014. He is also a Past President of the Southwest Louisiana Optometric Society and a past trustee to the Southern Council of Optometrists. He specializes in optometric medicine and contact lenses.
Dr. Janot & his wife, Becky, own and operate the Sulphur Vision Source office. They are active members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur. Their children are Dr. Adam Janot (& wife, Hillary), who is an Ophthalmologist in Retinal Fellowship at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Emily Porche' (& husband, Cody), who is Events Coordinator at the Burton Complex in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Kayla Ogea, who completed her Medical Assistant degree at Unitech Academy and works as a medical assistant in the office of Dr. Kenneth Thomas in Sulphur, LA. They are blessed with a beautiful grand daughter, Elizabeth (Libby) Janot, born April 18, 2016 (to parents Dr. Adam & Hillary Janot).
Dr. J. Madison Wall-Hayes
Dr. Madison Wall-Hayes is a 2016 graduate of the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. She is a 2011 graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a B.S. in biology. Dr. Hayes scored well above average on her Optometry Admissions Test and was invited to 5 different optometry colleges throughout the U.S., choosing the prestigious Southern College of Optometry.
Dr. Hayes was a patient of Dr. Janot's, long before her interest in optometry as a career. Additionally, she worked with Dr. Janot for several years, beginning in June, 2009. Dr. Hayes has gained much patient care experience from her time at Dr. Janot's Vision Source which will greatly serve her as an Optometrist. Dr. Hayes is the daughter of Dr. Pete & Mary Jo Bayles of DeQuincy, Louisiana. She is married to Shawn Hayes who works with special needs kids in the Calcasieu Parish School Board System, currently at DeQuincy Elementary.
Becky Janot, CPO
Becky Janot, Dr. Janot's wife, has been in the optical business for 26 years. She was systems administrator for a multi-doctor and multi-location practice for 10 years. Becky then served as Manager of Client Services for Marchon Delta Systems, an optical software / hardware company based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Returning to the Lake area after 2 years, Becky continued her client service role with Delta, working out of her home. In May, 2005, Becky returned to optical sales as an administrator. She is a nationally certified paraoptometric (CPO) and serves as office manager for Dr. Janot's Vision Source practice.
Tina Hare, CPOA
Tina Hare is a nationally certified paraoptometric assistant (CPOA). She has worked in the optical field for 24 years, mostly with Dr. Janot. In the early 1990's, she was manager of a sunglass kiosk in the Prien Lake Mall as well as working for Sunglass Hut International. Tina then returned to clinical practice, where she worked for several years with Dr. Janot in his former practice. Now, she works in optical sales, serving as principal frame buyer for Dr. Janot.
Tina, and her husband, Jon, live in Moss Bluff, La. Jon is a coach at South Beauregard High School and he and Tina have 3 children.
Shonna Daigle, CPO
Shonna Daigle, a certified paraoptometric (CPO), has been in the optical field for over 22 years. She has also worked in the medical field for several years. The majority of Shonna's optical experience has come during her work with Dr. Janot in both his former and current practice. In June, 2014, Shonna was awarded Louisiana's Paraoptometric of the Year by the Optometry Association of Louisiana's Paraoptometric Section. She serves as Dr. Janot's chief exam room technician and lead contact lens technician. Shonna resides in Sulphur, La.
Angie Blanchette, CPO
Angie Blanchette has been working with Dr. Janot for 10 years. She serves as a frame consultant and front desk assistant. Angie brings to our office her experience in retail customer service, an area in which she worked for nearly 20 years before joining the Vision Source family. In July, 2008 Angie received her Certified Paraoptometric (CPO) certification by the American Optometric Association. She lives in Sulphur, La.
Anne Schlicher, CPO
Anne Schlicher joined Dr. Janot’s Vision Source team in May, 2013. She is a graduate of North Vermilion High School and a 2011 graduate of McNeese State University with a BA in History and a BA in Liberal Studies. Anne is currently serving as an exam room technician where she preps patients for their examinations, teaches contact lens techniques, and provides special patient testing. In August, 2016, she successfully passed examination to become a certified Paraoptometric (CPO). Anne is originally from Maurice, Louisiana and now resides in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Since 1980, Catherine Landreneau has worked in the Optical Field. As an Optician, her roles have included lens fabrication & edging, as well as frame styling, dispensing, adjusting, and repairing. About 12 of her years in the field have been in association with Dr. Janot. Catherine rejoins Dr. Janot’s Vision Source team, as an Optician, after a short absence from her work in the Optical Field.
Catherine is married to Kevin Landreneau and they have 5 children, 6 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Catherine & Kevin reside in Grand Lake, LA.
Morgan Gillis has been shadowing in optometric practices since 2009. In 2007, she attended LSU as a freshman. In December 2010, Morgan graduated early, with honors, from McNeese State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in education.
She completed her pre-optometry curriculum at McNeese State University where she majored in biology with a minor in Chemistry. Morgan works with Dr. Janot as an exam room technician. She is attending Optometry College at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Morgan is from DeQuincy, Louisiana and is the daughter of Garland & Marlene Gillis.
